In a moving tribute posted on social media, Irizarry celebrated her remarkable life and the immeasurable impact she had on their family.

“She was the shining light and heart of our family,” Irizarry wrote, describing his mother as a “fantastic mother and wife in every possible way.” Married for an astounding 70 years to her devoted husband—Irizarry's father—the couple’s love story began when they were just nine years old. Together, they built a beautiful legacy, raising six children, enjoying 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Irizarry recalled how his parents “sacrificed their youth” to raise a family, starting at the tender age of 16. Their enduring love and strength shaped the lives of their children, a testament to the powerful foundation they created.

While mourning the loss of his mother, Irizarry’s tribute was also filled with gratitude and reverence for her unwavering faith. “I know where you now exist in the presence of our all-loving Creator: in peace, joy, and glory,” he expressed, acknowledging the strength and spirituality his mother carried throughout her life—even in the face of pain in her later years.
