The man slumped over the desk isn't John; he's a nuclear scientist named Carl who mutters about not being safe. Marlena inquires if he's John, and shows him a photo, and he responds that he has it and was taken. Carl dies.
Orpheus, with a bloodied hand, mocks Paul by laughing and saying "ROSEBUD," refusing to reveal anything. Shooting Orpheus again could jeopardize Andrew's career, so Paul lowers the gun as the ISA group arrives for Orpheus.
